Penati Slovak Open Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary: Slovenia’s Štirn Leads as Slovak Players Stay Close Behind

Senica, September 7, 2026 – The anniversary 10th edition of the Penati Slovak Open got underway with its opening round at Penati Golf Resort, where the tournament is being held for the tenth time.

The international field features both male and female players from eight countries. After the opening round, Slovenian golfer Žan Luka Štirn took the lead with a score of −4, 69 strokes on the par-73 Legend Course.

Close behind the leader are Slovak players Rory Sabbatini, Adam Puchmelter and Jan Friesz, all on −3 after rounds of 70, while Matúš Maďar is just one shot further back on −2 following a round of 71. The Slovak players will be looking to continue their strong performances in the next rounds in front of their home fans.

The highest-ranked amateur after the opening round is Patrik Dolinský. The Penati Slovak Open has a total prize fund of €30,000, and the anniversary edition promises an exciting battle all the way to the final round.
